kaitak, the Centre for Research and Development of the Academy of Visual Arts was established in 2013. Situated at the Grade I historic building, the former Royal Air Force Officers’ Mess at 51 Kwun Tong Road, it supports academic research and community projects for the development of Visual Arts in and around Hong Kong. The Centre hosts a spectrum of activities, including Artist-in-Residence programme, academic symposia, community projects, etc. It also provides a platform for the artists to increase their exposure in the art and cultural or commercial sectors.
